Information We Process

• Account information — the email address associated with your account.
• Food photos you upload or capture to be analyzed.
• AI-generated nutrition estimates produced from those photos.
• Saved meals and nutrition history you choose to log.
• Scan usage records — timestamps and outcomes of scan attempts, used to enforce daily usage limits and prevent abuse.
• Basic technical and log information generated by normal use of a web application (e.g. request timestamps, error logs).

How Your Information Is Used

Your information is used to operate the app's core functionality: authenticating your account, analyzing food photos you submit, calculating and displaying nutrition estimates, storing your meal history, and enforcing scan usage limits described in our Terms of Use.

Third-Party Services

SCAN PLATE AI relies on the following third-party services to operate:

• Supabase — provides authentication, database storage, and file storage for your account and meal data.
• Anthropic — food images and related content you submit may be processed by Anthropic's AI models to generate nutrition estimates. Anthropic processes this content on our behalf to provide the scanning feature; refer to Anthropic's own privacy documentation for details on how they handle data submitted to their API.

Data Retention

Food photos are compressed into thumbnails and stored only as needed to support app functionality — displaying your saved meals and history — according to the app's current implementation. Deleting an individual meal removes its associated photo. Deleting your account removes your photos, meals, and account data as described below.

Data Association & Access

Your account data, meals, and nutrition history are associated with your authenticated account and are accessible only to you. We do not intentionally sell your personal information.

Your Choices

You can delete any individual meal at any time from within the app. You can request deletion of your entire account and associated data from the Profile screen, or by contacting Support.
